The research area of this professorship will be experimental condensed-matter physics with a relation to quantum technology. Possible research topics include, for example, studies of novel
correlated or topological materials, two-dimensional materials and heterostructures, ultrafast spectroscopy or light-matter interaction for the preparation and detection of novel quantum
states. Participation in the Cluster of Excellence “Matter and Light for Quantum Information – ML4Q” is explicitly encouraged.

Teaching according to the Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung NRW is an integral part of the professorship, which includes teaching lecture courses and seminars on all levels of the
courses of study. Corresponding teaching experience is expected. The successful candidate should also be actively involved in academic self-governance.
