W3 Professorship in German Linguistics

at the Department of German and Comparative Literature and Culture at the earliest opportunity.

Candidates should be internationally established researchers in German linguistics. The Department is looking for a candidate with the ability to cover the entire field of synchronic linguistics, with a specialization in at least two areas of research (one of these should be phonology, graphematics, morphology or syntax). A corpus linguistic approach is welcome especially in teaching.

Further important qualifications are experience in international teaching and interdisciplinary research, an interest in joining teaching and research initiatives at the department, the faculty, and/or the university (e.g. international study programmes and participation in transdisciplinary research areas (TRAs), Bonn Center for Digital Humanities (BCDH)), and a willingness to become involved in committee activities and academic administrative duties. Prior experiences with the acquiring of external funding are also expected.

Application requirements are a relevant PhD and habilitation or equivalent academic achievements.

The prerequisites for employment are in accordance to Section 36 Higher Education Act NRW.
