Adelgunde Brenninkmeijer-Werhahn is founder of the Centre for the Study of Christianity at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, founder of the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies at the Gregoriana, Rome, and founder and director of the International Academy for Marital Spirituality (INTAMS) Leuven/Brussels.
The Faculty of Catholic Theology especially recognizes "the extraordinary services of the theologian and social scientist for the Jewish-Christian dialogue, for the further development of marriage and family theology, and for the communication and implementation of fundamental insights of the Second Vatican Council as central concerns, which also correspond to the focal points of the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Bonn," says Dean Sautermeister.
"I gratefully accept the honor with a view to the decades of commitment of my husband and me," says Adelgunde Brenninkmeijer-Werhahn. "I understand it in particular as an encouragement and motivation for future generations to take responsibility in different ways and to get involved for the benefit of people."
