W2 Professorship for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (with tenure track to W3)
with effect from October 1, 2025.

The successful candidate will be capable of covering the two subdisciplines in their research and teaching. They will be required to have published in prestigious international journals of clinical psychology and/or psychotherapy research and to have secured third-party funding as part of a competitive process or processes. The duties of the professorship include contributing to and teaching on the consecutive master’s degree program in Psychology—specializing in clinical psychology and psychotherapy—and heading up the University Psychotherapy Outpatient Clinic as well as playing a role in the relevant University bodies tasked with academic self-administration. The post holder will be expressly encouraged to take part in the department’s various research initiatives and be ready and willing to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Bonn as part of its Excellence Strategy. They must be prepared to work together with the University Hospital Bonn and the LVR-Klinik as part of the consecutive master’s degree program in Psychology—specializing in clinical psychology and psychotherapy. A license to practice psychotherapy and proof of competence for a method approved in the applicable guidelines (Richtlinienverfahren) are also essential. Applicants require a Diplom or master’s degree in Psychology, a relevant doctorate in Psychology, a Habilitation or equivalent achievements and relevant experience in academic teaching and psychotherapy practice. A continual professional development qualification as a supervisor in a Richtlinienverfahren and proof of positive student feedback would be an advantage.
The conditions of employment are in accordance with § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW).
