Dr. Alberto Doria will give insights to his role as the Director of Data, Analytics and AI at EMP Merchandising Handelsgesellschaft mbH. His work primarily revolves around data, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and business reporting. With the help of innovative methods, and AI/BI technologies, he and his team develop statistical algorithms to make automated decisions to steer the business with a data-driven approach. 

Dr. Doria studied Astrophysiks and Cosmology at the University of Bologna, Italy, and completed his Ph.D. in Astrophysics at the University of Bonn, in cooperation with the International Max Planck Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. He subsequently started his career outside academia and worked in the fields of Data Science, AI and Business Intelligence for trivago and E.ON, before starting as Head of Data Intelligence at his current organization and evolved to the position of Director of Data, Analytics and AI.
