Ideas and Networks for Teaching
University teaching lives from exchange and is a prerequisite for ensuring excellent teaching. To this end, the teaching staff of the University of Bonn are embedded in a range of both small and large-scale networks dedicated to the development of new ideas for high-quality university teaching.
The University of Bonn is a member of the “Hochschuldidaktik NRW”, a consortium of 16 universities in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia dedicated to the development of university teaching. The network runs a university teaching qualification program, and provides the opportunity to earn the “Professional Teaching Competence for the University” certificate which is valid at all institutions of higher education in Germany. Members of the network can take part in training courses at all the participating institutions, which will be subject to credit transfer in the certificate program. The presentations in which the individual teaching/learning projects of the program culminate are held twice a year as part of a ceremonial closing event, to which all members of the University of Bonn are invited. The date of the event will be published in a timely fashion in the University event directory. Subscribers to the newsletter for university teaching will be invited by mail, as well as being kept informed of the range of offers for teachers.
Meeting at a monthly informal coffee afternoon, members of the University of Bonn teaching staff have the opportunity to discuss topical issues in university teaching. Interested parties can register up to the evening in question. Simply send an email to Imke Lichterfeld: lichterfeld@uni-bonn.de
