The Institute of Food and Resource Economics (ILR) of the Faculty of Agriculture (LWF) of the University of Bonn is seeking to fill the following position at the earliest possible date

Candidates should have an innovative research profile in the empirical and model-based analysis of controlled cultivation systems in horticulture and agriculture as well as in the field of corresponding marketing strategies. The methodological and content-related focus should be on the economic cost-benefit analysis and the sustainability of technological innovation processes (e.g. AI-supported systems and robotics) in controlled environment agriculture (CEA). The professorship integrates economic technology assessment with empirical and experimental approaches to the analysis of consumer behavior and technology acceptance.

The professorship contributes to deepening research on technology-based solutions for the sustainable transformation of agricultural and food systems as a focus of the LWF and the Transdisciplinary Research Area 6, "Sustainable Futures". In particular, new lines of research are to be developed at the interface between horticulture, agriculture and consumer research.

In addition to teaching in the context of the above-mentioned research areas, in the medium term contributions to the focus areas 'Agribusiness' and 'Market Research' of the English-language degree course 'Agricultural and Food Economics' (AFECO) are desired.

Participation in interdisciplinary third-party funded and collaborative research proposals is expected. The professorship is advertised for a limited period of five years.

The recruitment requirements are based on § 36 HG NRW.
