Unifest - FAQ

Various stations with exciting offers await you at the event. You can have photos taken, take part in various activities with your family and friends, sample culinary delights and receive a jewellery certificate from your faculty. There will also be a stage programme with a joint hat toss and a musical act. Immediately after this year's Unifest, there will also be a public event on the Hofgartenwiese to mark the 20th anniversary of the Unifest. Anyone interested can take part in the “Forever Uni Bonn” event free of charge and without prior registration. Information on the anniversary event can be found here.¹

Admission to the event area begins at 11 a.m. From this time onwards, offers will be available at the booths. The official program starts at 12:30 p.m.

You can find the conditions of participation ²here³.⁴ After the registration deadline, we will contact the respective examination offices, which will check your registration. We will then inform you of the examination office's confirmation of your participation (acceptance or cancellation). If you have any questions about the conditions of participation, please contact the examination office responsible for you in good time (before the registration deadline).

Rejection and admission notices for participation in the Unifest will be issued by the responsible examination office after comprehensive examination. If you have any comments on the decision made, please contact the examination office responsible for you.

Registration for Unifest is exclusively open to graduates of Bonn University.

No. The event is not aimed at doctoral students. The exact conditions of participation can be found here.³²²

There is no dress code for accompanying persons.

No, the event area is not covered. Please dress accordingly and bring an umbrella and solid footwear, if necessary.

In principle, the event will take place even in bad weather. In case of severe thunderstorms, storms or similar, a decision will be made on a case-by-case basis with the local authorities on how to proceed.

During the event you can freely move around the area. The stage program is followed standing. There are no seats in front of the stage. However, there is plenty of seating across the entire event area.

If you are unable to attend, please send an e-mail to: universitaetsfest@uni-bonn.de. You will only be able to take part in subsequent years, if you cancel.

Yes, that is normal. The communication is only through the graduates. Please inform your accompanying persons about possible changes. 

In this case, please contact us by e-mail at universitaetsfest@uni-bonn.de and indicate the persons including the full name. 

No. It is not possible to register accompanying persons after the registration deadline.

Drinks and snacks can be purchased during the event.

We will publish all information on the general conditions of the event on our homepage in good time. You will also receive all information by e-mail.

You will meet your faculty outside the event area to run in together. Please find the meeting point of your faculty in the event plan, that was sent to you in the attachment of the confirmation email of your participation.

The robes will be collected in the assembly hall of the main building of the University of Bonn and returned after the event. Please find the pick-up and fitting time of the robe in the e-mail you receive from our cooperation partner Robe Academicus.

Children up to the age of 6 do not need to be registered as an accompanying person.

The Horbach company will contact you to confirm your details. Once this has been done, the Graduation Box will arrive at your address in June. Please ensure, that you provide an address where you can be found in June. Otherwise the box cannot be delivered. The address must be an address in Germany.

There will be photo stations at which you can take photos. Of course you can also take photos yourself.
