The holder of the position is to represent the energy homeostasis research area and strengthen research into metabolism, adipose tissue regulation and pharmacological intervention in metabolic disorders at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bonn. They will be involved in the sustainable further development of existing collaborative projects and structures in this field, particularly in the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) TRR333 “Brown and Beige Fat – Organ Crosstalk, Signaling and
Energetics (BATenergy).”

The future holder of the position is expected to have proven experience in research into brown/beige adipose tissue and energy homeostasis. The successful candidate has in-depth expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing. Experience in spatial omics technologies is also desirable. Internationally visible
research achievements are expected.

Involvement in the postgraduate training program Bonn International Graduate School of Drug Sciences (BIGS DrugS) and other associations of the Faculty of Medicine (e.g., in the Integrative Obesity and Metabolism (BiOMe) Research Center, the Faculty’s Cardiovascular Sciences research focus, Collaborative Research Center 1454, and the Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation) is desired.

The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in medicine or natural science and a habilitation or have evidence of equivalent academic achievements. Experience in teaching in accordance with section 36 of the University Law NRW is preferable.
