My research focuses on the molecular genetic basis of multifactorial phenotypes, in particular neuropsychiatric disorders. Our projects included large genome-wide association study (GWAS) meta-analyses and follow-up analyses of the GWAS data. In addition, we performed polygenic score and whole-exome sequencing analyses in multiply affected families of bipolar disorder. Furthermore, we have also analyzed other omics layers, such as DNA methylation, and performed bioinformatic analyses to integrate the genomic findings with other data layers (e.g. brain imaging data). The results of our studies have provided important insights into the underlying biology of multifactorial phenotypes.
