Philipp Vollmuth is a physician-scientist and Else Kröner Fresenius Professor (W3) for AI in Medical Imaging at the University of Bonn. He leads the Division of Computational Radiology & Clinical AI at the University Hospital Bonn and holds a secondary appointment at the Division of Medical Image Computing at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Prof. Vollmuth heads a multidisciplinary research team focused on developing and clinically translating cutting-edge AI and big data analytics in radiology. He plays a key role in several national and international research initiatives, including the DFG Priority Program "Next Generation of Biomedical Imaging" (SPP 2177) or within the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). His research has been recognized with numerous prizes, including the Life Sciences Bridge Award from the Aventis Foundation, the ESNR Scientific Award or the Gerhard Domagk Prize for Cancer Research.
