I am a physicist by training working in computational neuroscience and professor at the Institute for physiological chemistry, University of Mainz Medical Center, and group leader at the Institute of Experimental Epileptology and Cognition Research, University of Bonn Medical Center. Starting 1.9.2023 I will be full time W3 professor at University of Bonn. My group analyses data at the molecular level writing down PDEs and ODEs for protein motion in dendrites, we simulate and analyse neural circuit activity and build ML prediction models for behavioral and activity data. We combine mathematics, physics and computer science to provide a better understanding of how neurons encode incoming information and perform computations.
