Description
Scientific projects entail a specific structure and often challenging team dynamics between cooperation and competition. The more diverse the individuals are on the team, the more unexpected stumbling blocks seem to pop up and hinder the shared success of the project.
In this workshop, you will explore the unique features and dynamics of scientific projects, understand key aspects of team development, and the complexities and great potential of diverse individuals in scientific collaborative work. This workshop strengthens your self-awareness, provides you with knowledge and practical skills for diversity-conscious interaction and communication as well as promoting a healthy team structure and project development for joint scientific success.

- Scientific projects: understanding its power-structures, specific features and handling academic competition & cooperation successfully
- Teamwork: features, roles, stages of teams and team development
- Our cultural imprints, unconscious bias and expectations
- 4 dimensions of diversity (Diversity Wheel), Causes of Conflicts (C.W. Moore) & diversity
- Key cultural dimensions for diversity-conscious teamwork
- Diversity-conscious, non-violent communication and anti-bias approach
- Creating diversity-conscious teamwork for successful scientific projects
