Description

Day 1
We will explore typical entry-level salaries and the key factors that can influence them. You will practice a salary calculation method to help determine an appropriate salary for a specific position. Additionally, we will introduce various research strategies to gain insights into a company's internal salary structure.

Self-learning
After the first workshop day, you will receive self-study training on essential job interview preparation. This includes guidance on appropriate attire, punctuality, and company research. You will also learn about the typical structure of job interviews and receive tips on crafting a professional self-introduction as well as handling special interview formats, such as online or telephone interviews. A video seminar will further guide you through salary negotiations, helping you avoid common pitfalls and explore alternative compensation options in case of a lower salary offer.

Time investment for self-learning units: 2,5 hours

Day 2
In the second part of the workshop, we will develop strong responses to common recruiter questions. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to practice your self-presentation in a dedicated session and receive personalized feedback. Be prepared to invest additional 2,0 hours in the preparation of the presentation. The participation in the practical session is a mandatory part of the workshop program.

Content

  • Determination of salaries
  • Preparation and phases of interviews
  • Answering interviewer questions
  • Salary negotiation procedure

Feedback from participants

"Heidi was very open for discussions and answered questions also beyond the official scope of the workshop. I liked that we prepared job interviews for actual job ads that we were interested in which made the task even more relevant (in my case I actually applied for that job). I really liked that there was a good balance between lectures, practical tasks, home work and self-study courses which made it very to fit the workshop into the daily schedule." (Participant 2023)

"Great lecturer, content was very well structured and helpful. I could directly apply it to my job search. Learned a lot of things that you cannot just "google". Also I liked the focus on the interaction with the audience and the practical parts."
