Description

Day one and two concentrate on mid-term project planning, day three on calculating one´s own workload, setting priorities and organizing time on the level of daily and weekly routines.

After the workshop, you will be able to plan your project more precisely and identify strategies to gain support from your supervisors. You will reflect on your individual working style and learn how to manage stress and maintain motivation in the long run. Overall, our approach aims to demystify the doctoral process by making it more manageable and helping you develop a healthy level of detachment.

The workshop employs a variety of methods, including trainer input, individual project planning, group work, and plenary discussions. It concludes with a short “Survival Kit” session, where participants benefit from sharing their experiences with both peers and the trainer. To tailor the workshop to participants’ needs, a questionnaire will be sent out in advance.

Feedback from participants

"The lecturer was excellent at empathizing with the position of a PhD student. Everything was very well prepared, there was no rush and still a wealth of information was presented. Breaks were appropriately spaced and of the right length. There was a warm and cooperative atmosphere. Overall an excellent workshop!"  (Participant 2024)

"I liked that the workshop gave a lot of room for creativity and finding own solutions. The lecturer did an excellent job in communicating and making possible that we make most out of this workshop. The workshop was very encouraging to spend more time on the matter and provided very good (and a lot) additional material."  (Participant 2024)
