Spring School: Outer Space Cooperation in the Middle East

Space-based infrastructure is crucial for modern societies, supporting everything from navigation and weather forecasting to energy supply and military communications. As reliance on satellites grows, so does the potential for strategic control over critical systems. Space has become a new arena for global power struggles, with major and regional powers, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Oman, investing heavily in space technologies. This sector's strategic importance in the Middle East promises both economic growth and security challenges. However, space also offers opportunities for cooperation, driving innovation, regional stability, and international partnerships.
