Higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published its international subject rankings for the year, in which 1,559 universities from around the world are compared based on various indicator criteria.
Economics and Econometrics are also strong in Bonn alongside Mathematics, achieving a very noteworthy ranking of 56th (3rd in Germany). We likewise ranked within the global top 100 in the fields of Archaeology, Classical Studies and Ancient History, Philosophy, Development Studies and Dentistry, in the 51-100 range. Agriculture and Forestry was also highly recognized, our programs ranking 73rd worldwide (4th in Germany). In the broader category of the Natural Sciences, we ranked 100th worldwide—a very strong showing.

This year’s QS Rankings covered 55 subjects; the University of Bonn was ranked in 25 of these. The rankings are determined based on four or five indicators depending on the subject, including academic reputation, employer reputation, citations and international research and publication networks.
