Since 2005, the University of Bonn has bid farewell to its current graduating class at the Bonn "Unifest". Even though it will not yet be possible to hold the Unifest in the traditional format this year, the Hofgartenwiese will still be the focus of the event, which is scheduled for August 28, 2021.
The Unifest website (https://www.universitaetsfest.uni-bonn.de) already has numerous digital offerings for the current year's graduates. Their families and friends, as well as all members of the University, are also invited to place greeting messages there. Graduates can also create a personal graduation video ("I did it!") and send digital greeting cards.
The highlight of this year's Unifest will be the Graduation Walk on August 28, 2021. Graduates will walk together with up to three persons around the Hofgartenwiese park, where there will be numerous stations, including the handing out of gowns and berets, a merchandise store, beverage stations, photo stations, games and, as a highlight at the end, the presentation of the decorative certificates.
Rector Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Hoch invites all graduates of the academic year 2020/21: "It was very important to us to create the opportunity for our graduates to celebrate their graduation at the University of Bonn again this year! Within the scope of possibilities, we will break new ground with innovative offers - digitally as well as in the heart of the University and the City of Bonn. I am looking forward to this and once again cordially invite our students to be part of it!"
