Versus the rest of Germany the University of Bonn improved in three of the five ranking categories, scoring best for "Research Quality" and "Teaching". Internationally the University of Bonn performed best in the "Research Environment" category, competing against 2,092 institutions from 115 countries, including 50 German universities in the rankings. Eight German universities are among the top 100 worldwide.
