Students of Scandinavian studies at the University of Bonn will open the Scandinavian Film Days at 5 pm on Thursday, May 18, after which the comedy “Fathers and Mothers” (Denmark 2022) will have its first-ever advance screening in Germany at the festival. On Friday, May 19, the Finnish band Loimolan Voima will be performing in the KulturKneipe pub from 6:30 pm onward before a screening of the comedy “The Grump: In Search of an Escort” (Finland 2022).
One particular highlight will be an interview on Saturday, May 20 with Jenny Jägerfeld, author of the well-known young-adult novels “Comedy Queen” and “Easy Going.” The interview and the film adaptation of “Comedy Queen” (Sweden 2022) will be shown at 8:30 pm.
Greenland will be represented by two documentaries this year: “The Last Human” (Denmark/Greenland 2022) on Sunday, May 21, at 6:30 pm and “Tsumu – Where Do You Go with Your Dreams?” (Greenland 2022) on Wednesday, May 24, at 8 pm.
The animation “Titina” (Norway 2022), a deeply moving adventure for adults and children alike, will have its first advance screening in Germany at 8 pm on Monday, May 22. From 8 pm onward on Tuesday, May 23, the annual bar serving Kettenfett licorice liqueur, one of the sponsors of the Film Days, will accompany a screening of the action film “Operation Napoleon” (Iceland 2023).
As in every year, the festival will close with the much-loved evening of short-film screenings, which will include examples from all over the Nordic region. This year’s will be held on Thursday, May 25, starting at 8 pm.
