For the first time, the Postdoc Day 2025 is jointly organized by the University of Bonn’s Human Resources Development Team for Researchers and the Staff Unit for the Bonn Research Alliance (BORA), under the patronage of the Vice-Rector for Research and Career Development.

BORA currently encompasses 12 non-university research institutions2 from the four national research societies and associations — Fraunhofer, Helmholtz, Leibniz, and Max Planck — as well as the regional Johannes Rau Research Foundation and the United Nations University (UNU). Together, we discuss needs and collaboration opportunities, which are addressed through various networking formats and initiatives3. The staff unit for BORA focuses4 on both institutional cross-cutting concerns and overarching topics. Furthermore, BORA is a key measure in the successful Excellence Strategy.
