Do you want to position yourself for a career in science, plan your next steps, reflect on your competences and qualifications or systematically prepare yourself for appointment processes?

The University of Bonn offers individual coaching to all PhD holders. The confidential one-on-one meetings can be held in German or English.

You can agree on your concerns individually with your respective coach. Possible topics:

Determining your professional position
Your profile - your competences: Which positions suits you?
Specify your next goals and the major steps towards qualifying for long-term academic career
Decision-making support and career planning
Establishing an individual competence and research profile
Evaluating your current academic profile: What did you achieve and what do you still need?
Preparation for (interim) evaluations
Applying for professorship and self-marketing for positions within academia (including the optimization of application materials)

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee for the event?

No. Human Resources Development will cover the costs.

Are the premises barrier-free accessible?

The coaching sessions can be provided online or in person. If you require barrier-free premises, please get in touch with the contact person mentioned.

Is childcare available during the event?

If you need childcare during an event, please contact the Family Office.

Are external persons also allowed to attend the event?

In order to be able to participate in the coaching offers of the Human Resources Development of the University of Bonn, you must have an employment contract with the University of Bonn.

What does certificate or certificate of attendance mean?

There ar 3 certificates along the three "Career Tracks": "Research", "Research Management" and "Business & Organizations" in which the coachings may be applicable. If the currently displayed event can be credited to one of the three "tracks", this is indicated accordingly.
