Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRA)

The six transdisciplinary research areas (TRAs) of the University of Bonn offer various funding opportunities for their members (and members-to-be).

Funding from the University of Bonn

As the central pillar of the “Argelander Program for Early Career Researchers”, the Argelander Grants support you on your path to an academic career after your doctorate. The various funding lines give you the opportunity to gain academic independence, raise your international profile and expand your academic network. The University of Bonn also offers many other funding opportunities. In particular, the aim is to support young female scientists on their career path and thus increase the proportion of women in science. Another focus is on postdoctoral researchers and academics from countries in the Global South, who are to be given the opportunity to spend time at the University of Bonn through our own funding programs.

Would you like to transfer to the University of Bonn for your next career step? The Starter Kit Grant (A) - Stepping Stone offers you up to two years of employment for the start of an academic career. The focus of the funding is the preparation of an application for third-party funding.
