My lab focuses on the relevance and function of secondary DNA and RNA structures within cells. We identify and characterise proteins that regulate these structures and contribute to DNA damage/repair, telomere maintenance and mRNA stability. A special focus is to reveal how these structures are sensed in the cell and how changes within these structures affect genome stability and by this impact immunological responses.
