How do apocalypse and imminent expectations affect human actions? This question, which arises in view of the religious history of apocalypticism for the various writings of the NT, has (again) systematic relevance in the present. On the one hand, this results from the loss of significance of the progress model for the present and from the increasing diagnosis of an end-time crisis situation. On the other hand, it results more acutely from the cosmo- and process-theological revisions of the old transcendence-immanence opposition. Does God ultimately act through man, who no longer subdues the earth, but who causes the catastrophe? And what options for action are then still conceivable? The workshop will address these questions between New Testament and systematic approaches.
