English language skills
Applicants for the Bachelor's programs in Molecular Biomedicine, Media Studies, Musicology/Sound Studies, Geography, Archaeologies, Economics Major and Economics Minor at the University of Bonn who do not have a German Abitur are required to provide proof of English language proficiency.
Recognized English language certificates
In addition to the required German language skills (DSH 2 or equivalent), applicants with foreign certificates must have English language skills at the B2 level (CEFR). The appropriate English certificate must be submitted by the application deadline. An exemption from the English language certificate is possible in the following cases:
- The language of instruction at secondary school or in a completed bachelor's degree program was English. Official confirmation from the school/university is required.
- The English exam subject is marked with B2 in the secondary school leaving certificate.

- Internet-based test (iBT): with a minimum score of 72. Test Date Score applies, not MyBest Score.
- Please note: TOEFL ITP is not accepted.
- Please tell ETS the code number D393 so that your TOEFL score report will be sent directly to the University of Bonn.
