Student ID card / Deutschlandsemesterticket
The University of Bonn is introducing the Uni Bonn app and the Student body the new Deutschlandsemesterticket from the summer semester 2024.
From 1 April 2024, the Uni Bonn app will combine the new digital student ID, the new Deutschlandsemesterticket and the canteen meal plan in one user-friendly application and will be available to all students.
Information on installation can be found here. In order to use the app to its full extent, you will need your activated Uni-ID.
Newly enrolled students can access their Uni-ID in the application and enrollment portal after completing their enrollment. Students who are already enrolled should know their Uni-ID. If not, you can find further information on how to determine your Uni-ID on the website of the University IT and Data Center.
The new digital student ID:
The new digital student ID provided in the Uni Bonn app replaces the previous paper student ID card and will be the preferred means of proving your student status at the University of Bonn in the future. The student ID is still only valid in combination with an official identification document (ID card or passport).
After logging in with your valid Uni-ID, the student ID will be displayed under "Tickets & Passes" in the Uni Bonn app (please always enter your Uni-ID in lower case when logging in to the app).
Up to three student IDs can be stored in the app at the same time (for the current, previous and next semester).
Please note that the digital student ID does not entitle you to travel on public transport! The digital Deutschlandsemesterticket, which is also available in the app, serves as a travel ticket.
If you do not want to or cannot use the digital student ID, you can alternatively prove your student status with a certificate of enrollment. You can retrieve and print out certificates of enrollment yourself at any time from the Study Service.
The new Deutschlandsemesterticket:
The Student body of the University of Bonn has decided to introduce the new Deutschlandsemesterticket from the summer semester 2024.
Like the new student ID card, the Deutschlandsemesterticket will be made available to authorized students after logging in to the Uni Bonn app under "Tickets & Passes" (please always enter your Uni-ID in lower case when logging in to the app). The Deutschlandsemesterticket is only valid in combination with an official identification document (identity card or passport).
If you are unable to use the Deutschlandsemesterticket in the Uni Bonn app, please contact the Student Registry, stating your matriculation number.
You can find further information on the Deutschlandsemesterticket on the AStA website.
Important information about the introduction of the Uni Bonn app can be found here. If you have any further questions about the introduction of the Uni Bonn app, please contact unibonnapp@uni-bonn.de.
At what point can I start using my transit pass?
The ticket is valid for an entire semester, i.e. from October 1 to March 31 in the winter semester and from April 1 to September 30 in the summer semester, including on Sundays, on bank holidays and outside the lecture period.
First-semester students who participate in preliminary courses can apply for a discounted trainee ticket before the semester starts. For more details, please refer to the AStA website.
Refunds
Under certain circumstances (e.g in case of social hardship, disability, subscription to the large employer ticket or a study-related stay outside the contract territory), you can apply for a refund of the costs related to the student transit pass with the
Studiticket-Ausschuss des AStA . The application deadline is May 10 for the summer semester and November 10 for the winter semester.
