A German experience in a multicultural atmosphere

I was lucky to be accepted to the Global Exchange Program in Bonn. I chose Bonn because of its strong academic reputation, the city’s central location in Europe, and my interest in experiencing German culture firsthand. 

During my time I stayed in a student dormitory arranged through the university, which was comfortable and well-located. The city is very accessible, so no matter where you live, getting around is easy.

The University of Bonn exceeded my expectations. The professionalism of the professors and the variety and depth of the courses gave me an incredible learning platform in a comfortable environment. I selected courses that not only academically aligned with my interests but complemented my studies back home perfectly. Compared to my home university, the coursework here was more self-directed, encouraging independence and critical thinking. Through my classes as well as outside of them, I connected with students from all over the world. Such an intercultural experience is one I will not forget.

Bonn is a city combining both modern vibrancy and historic charm. It offers a range of activities, from visiting local Brauhouses and cafes like Kaffeesaurus, Black Coffee pharmacy or the Brauhaus Bönnsch! Bonn offers Museums, gardens, bars to go out to and a vibrant city with lots of food!

No matter what you like to do, you will find something enjoyable in the city. 

Leaving Bonn leads you to many adventures thanks to its ideal location. Located a few hours from the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Bavaria, there's so much to see!

During my exchange I've been to Maastricht, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg and many more cities all across Germany.
