Global Exchange Program
My experience in Bonn was incredible in terms of studies and free time
Global Exchange Program experience of Daniel Erenburg, student from Israel

Daniel Erenburg
Initially, I chose to study in Bonn because of a few reasons. First and foremost, I looked at the best ranked Universities and Economics faculties, where Bonn has stood out. Another two factors that made Bonn my top option were its convenient location in the center of the continent and its relatively cheap living accommodation options and cost of living in general.
The process of my application was conveniently structured. Although there were lots of forms to fill out, the Global Exchange Program team were always available to answer questions by email.
As an exchange student, I had been guaranteed a room in a student dorm and thankfully I have been given my top option. I chose the dorm at Endenicher Allee 17 by its proximity to the city center and the University. This building is not the newest out of the other dorm options, but it fit my preferences.
I took three courses in the Department of Economics. Since the topics of the courses were uploaded after I had made my decision to come to Bonn, I had to base my decision on the courses of the previous year. There is not a large variety of Bachelor of Economics courses in English. Looking back, both the courses I have taken and the professors I have had were very good and very interesting. I propose to send an email about the expected courses to the faculty and check out Master of Economics courses because the whole master’s program is taught in English.
The student life is incredible! I simply cannot be thankful enough for all the events happening in town for both international and local students. I have been attending the Erasmus and the International events constantly. They offer lots of weekly events, day trips and weekend trips. Bonn was simply great for meeting new friends. Personally, I have felt like the town is small enough to bump into friends constantly and yet big enough to have various events and places to hang out at.
As a conclusion, I had an incredible experience as an exchange student in Bonn. For me it was a life changing experience. I have met incredible people, never had a dull moment thanks to the free time programs in town and I have gotten the opportunity to learn some courses I could not have had back home. I really recommend joining the program specifically here.
