Terms and Conditions for Registering for German Courses Offered at the International Office by the German as a Foreign Language Section

These Terms and Conditions must be read and accepted every time when you register to take any German course offered at the International Office by the German as a Foreign Language section.

Terms and conditions for enrollment

The following are exclusively eligible to enroll:

• International students at the University of Bonn (including Erasmus+ students, exchange students and students of Alanus University)
• International doctoral students with doctoral supervisors who are professors of the University of Bonn
• Visiting international researchers and University of Bonn staff whose employment contract with the University of Bonn is valid at the time the seminar is conducted

Course registration

When your registration is processed, you receive an automated email notifying you of one of the following:

1. Confirmation of your enrollment for the course
2. That you have been waiting-listed for the course
3. That your registration is declined

Please note that course enrollment is limited for didactic and room capacity reasons. A German course may be canceled if the minimum enrollment is not reached or for other relevant reasons of import.

Attendance requirement

A course completion certificate will not be issued if you fail to attend 85% of the course sessions.

Course withdrawal

Withdrawal from a course is possible for valid reasons. We reserve the right to bar you for future registration if you withdraw less than one day prior to the course start date without a valid reason for doing so.

Photos taken during a course

Photos and videos may be taken in connection with any face-to-face or online German as a Foreign Language courses administered and organized by the International Office. This image material may be used for internal and/ or external promotional/ PR purposes (e.g. University of Bonn website).
