Being a student comes with many questions, including where to find lecture halls and whom to contact for certain issues and formal requirements. This overview will help you manage the different stages of your studies.

Starting your studies

Starting university is a personal and unique experience – a new chapter in life that’s exciting, opening up myriad new opportunities in parallel. We want to help you get ready for the changeover to your studies in a good and systematic way and make sure you independently co-shape your start into your studies.

Key semester dates

In the Key Semester Dates section, you will find the academic calendar of the University of Bonn as well as information on application and enrollment deadlines, lecture periods, days off and re-registration deadlines for the following semester.

Subject-Specific Study Advisory Services

For subject-specific advice and support for prospective and current students, please contact the subject-specific study advisors at the respective institute or department. They will help you with questions regarding individual modules, for example.

Examination authorities

The examination authorities will advise you on everything related to examination matters and provide information on registration policies for specific courses, details regarding specific examinations and other aspects.

IT and online services

eCampus

You will find a digital version of your study schedule in the University’s online learning platform along with teaching material from your lectures and courses.

BASIS

In the University’s online course catalog, you can manage your class schedule and register for/withdraw from examinations.

Hochschulrechenzentrum (HRZ)

The Hochschulrechenzentrum (HRZ) is in charge of all IT services for research, teaching and studying at the University, offering free WIFI and other services.

Graduation and transition to a professional career

The University of Bonn helps students and graduates transition from university to a professional career by offering advice and support, workshops, a diverse range of career guidance events as well as start-up support already during studies.
