Programme

The Programme d'Études en France (PEF) is aimed at German students for whom French plays an important role and enables them to study in France for the first part of their second Bachelor's year (or other forms of study before the 3rd semester, e.g. state examination). There are four French partner universities to choose from (Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens), Université de Lille, Université de Nantes or Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès).

The program enables students to improve their practice and knowledge of the French language and culture.  In addition to the subjects studied, the study visit includes language tandems between German and French students, a cultural framework program and initial insights into professional fields of work. 

Who can apply?

Applications are open to students of Romance studies, intercultural (French-related) and European studies, political science, history, linguistics with French as a first foreign language (e.g. foreign language linguistics), law or economics. 

Funding

The funding period is one semester and includes a monthly partial scholarship installment of €450. Students are also exempt from tuition fees at the French university and receive benefits for health, accident and personal liability insurance. In addition, the PEF offers educational and logistical support for students. The host university provides support with student accommodation. 

 

The DAAD application portal is open from 11 December 2023 to 12 March 2024.
