Studying abroad through an exchange program at institute level
Besides the University-wide Erasmus+ Study in Europe and Global Exchange Program exchange schemes, some institutes and degree programs also offer opportunities to study abroad at their respective partner universities.
Who can apply for programs at institute level?
Students from the corresponding department or degree program can apply for programs at institute level. Applications are submitted to the department directly.
The following exchange programs are available at institute level
- Exchange programs funded via the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), such as the “ISAP program,” for which students are awarded a scholarship
- Exchange programs forming part of Erasmus+ Worldwide Exchange, for which students receive Erasmus funding
- Other partnership agreements that the respective department has entered into, which often do not come with financial support
- Periods of time spent abroad that form an integral part of double degree programs.
Does your department or degree run a program at institute level?
Have a look on your department’s website (e.g. under “International” or “Studying abroad”) or ask your subject advisor.
The search portal for partner universities lists programs at institute level that the International Office is aware of.
