Vice Rectorate for Learning, Teaching and University Development

Professor Dr. Klaus Sandmann is the Vice Rector for Learning, Teaching and University Development. He is responsible for basic and inter-faculty matters in the areas of teaching and learning. He is also Director of the Bonn Center for Higher Education, a central operating unit that offers advice, support and services to all faculties for core responsibilities in the areas of teaching and learning (in cooperation with internal and external partners). His area of responsibility also includes the fundamental cross-faculty organizational structure and development planning of the University.

Strategy

The University feels that good teaching is fundamental for enabling students to think, act and participate in discourse in an academic manner, and for preparing them for a rapidly changing society. Dynamic interaction between teachers and students is needed to provide the next generation with an excellent, comprehensive education. As Vice Rector, I look forward to continuing the ongoing development of teaching and learning at the University with our students, teachers and many other partners and promoting and assisting the processes required for structural change.
