Endowments and Fundraising Unit
The unit is responsible for financing projects at the University and for the general management of the University of Bonn Foundation. It administers gifts, endowments, donations and bequests that help to support education and research at the highest level. We give sponsors the opportunity to contribute to the innovative strength of a University of Excellence.
The main scholarship that we award is the Deutschlandstipendium. Worth €300 each, these scholarships for particularly high-achieving students at the University of Bonn are funded by alumni, private individuals, foundations and companies and co-financed by funding from the federal and state government. The Endowments and Fundraising unit is responsible for securing funds for the scholarships, running the application procedure and selecting and looking after scholarship recipients and sponsors.

The University of Bonn Foundation serves as an umbrella organization for twenty-seven endowment funds, four foundation trusts and five collections. It focuses its work as a foundation on four areas of funding: awarding scholarships and prizes and funding projects and research at the University of Bonn.

The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship is awarded based on achievement and is open to all students at the University of Bonn. The University of Bonn and the University of Bonn Foundation, together with their sponsors, have been involved in the scheme since the 2013/14 winter semester.

We need high-performing young talent. For this reason, the German federal government and sponsors support gifted students through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. It is an investment in the future that is well worth it for everyone involved.
