Rectorate and Deans open the ceremony with the traditional solemn entry. Rector Prof. Dr. Michael Hoch welcomes the guests and proclaims the new Deans and members of the Senate. He will also report on the latest developments at the University of Bonn.
A new part of the program is a panel discussion with three scientists:
- Prof. Dr. Judith Pfeiffer, Alexander von Humboldt Professorship for Islamic Studies
- Prof. Dr. Matthias Becher, spokesman for the special research area "Power and domination"
- Prof. Dr. Dr. Pierluigi Nicotera, Chairman and Scientific Director of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE)
The state prizes and the DAAD prize will then be awarded to young Bonn scientists. For the students, the chairwoman of the General Student Committee (AStA), Alena Schmitz, will give a speech.
The Forum Musik & Tanz of the University of Bonn with the ensemble Campus Brass under the direction of Jörg Ritter is responsible for the musical framing. The Atelier of Fine Art under the direction of Ivo Ringe will present works by students.
The event ends at 6 pm.
