A look back: Science Festival 2024
The University of Bonn's Science Festival took place on Sunday (July 7) for the second time in a row under the motto "Science for everyone to join in!".
In ideal weather for an excursion, the numerous guests were treated to a varied program - from drawing robots and insights into the world of honey bees to the "TRAllye", a science rally for young and old with many different puzzles and hands-on activities.
The focus was on the university's six Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRAs), which presented their research at the individual stands with experiments and presentations. Participants were able to try out risk-affine and risk-averse strategies in a playful way at the 'risk fishing' event, for example, learn more about plant-based nutrition in a food quiz or slip into the role of an artificial intelligence to find the shortest ways to separate data sets.
Numerous examples illustrated what research at the University of Excellence is all about: working together in different departments to find solutions to socially relevant issues and involving practitioners and society in research.
