Starting Date:
Earliest possible opportunity
Information on the Application Process:
The candidate should represent and further develop the field of urological oncology at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Urology and Pediatric Urology in research, teaching, and interdisciplinary patient care. Designing and implementing clinical trials in the field of conservative urological oncological treatments represents a key task. The W2 Professorship for Translational Urological Oncology is integrated into the structure of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Urology and Pediatric Urology and is linked to a clinical role as a consultant. Comprehensive experience is thus expected in implementing and managing the medication-based systemic therapy of urological oncology patients.
The University is looking for a nationally and internationally proven personality who is established in the field of urological oncology through high-quality translational research and publications in recognized journals. The successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding is expected. In keeping with the interdisciplinary character of modern cancer therapy, close cooperation with the cancer center CIO ABCD and the other clinics and institutes of the University Hospital is desired. The candidate is expected to have scientific links to existing research networks (e.g., Immunosensation² Cluster of Excellence) of the Faculty of Medicine and the existing interdisciplinary research groups in urological oncology. The holder of the position should strengthen and further develop these research specialisms with their own research projects financed with third-party funding. Experience in the various teaching methods and formats (compulsory teaching and additional courses) is required.
For the application, specialist certification in the field of urology and medication-based tumor therapy is a requirement. High-quality translational and clinical research in the field of urological oncology is required, regardless of the specialist certification. Social skills, a team-oriented working style, and the ability to successfully acquire third-party funding are required.
The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in medicine and have a habilitation or evidence of equivalent academic achievements.
