W3 Professorship for Clinical Cardiovascular Research

is to be filled at the earliest opportunity at the Cardiac Center of University Hospital Bonn as part of an early appointment procedure, financed with funding from the STEP program for equal opportunities and diversity.

We are looking for a recognized person in the field of cardiovascular research. Expertise in the design, financing, implementation, and evaluation of clinical trials is desirable. The candidate should strengthen the cardiovascular specialization of the Faculty, including existing research networks relating to aorta diseases and metabolism, with his/her scientific orientation and/or methodical approaches and actively participate in the development of new collaborative projects. A content-based and methodological connection to the other specializations and collaborative projects (e.g., ImmunoSensation Cluster of Excellence) at the Faculty of Medicine and university is desired. Clinical integration at the Cardiac Center is possible if the appropriate requirements are met.

Excellent scientific performance and experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding are expected. The holder of the position should play a major role in the further development of the faculty’s cardiovascular specialization and actively participate in the development of new national and international collaborative projects.

The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in medicine or natural science and have a habilitation or evidence of equivalent academic achievements. Experience in teaching in accordance with section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW) is preferable.
